All children and teenagers in Ireland (26 counties) who require radiotherapy are treated at St. Luke's Cancer Hospital in Dublin. During treatment, the child or teen must be kept perfectly still resulting in many requiring general anesthesia to facillitate this.  St. Luke's has designated an area for adolescents where they can recover after anesthesia or where they can wait for treatments. This area is built but requires furnishing. Teens often have to travel long didtances to St Luke's on a weekly basis for very arduous treatments, missing time from school and seprated from friends. I want the funds I raise to provide sofas and other rest areas where teens can use their own computers, ipads and phones to keep in contact with their friends. It is often the support of their friends that carry adolescents throuhg this very difficult journey. Please help to provide this private space where these teens can communicate with friends and rest and recover for the difficult journey ahead.
