Cancer is a horrible disease that has unfortunately touched everyone's life - whether it is you personally or someone close to you. The skinny dip is not just about raising much needed funds but also we are hoping that by beating the world record, it will help to raise awareness of the great work that is being done by 'Aoibheann Pink Tie.' They are a charity that assists the families of children suffering from childhood cancer and who are attending St Johns Oncology Ward in Our Ladys Childrens Hospital, Crumlin. As a volunteer run charity 96% of the money raised goes towards supporting and providing practical help the families of children fighting cancer in Ireland so you know that any money donated will be used to help those that need it most. 

This is also an event to celebrate people who have got out the other side, acknowledge those who are still struggling with life with cancer, remembering those we lost to cancer and celebrating womanhood. Personally breast cancer has affected many of the women in my life and I am doing it for those women who have beat cancer - in particular my aunt who is like my best friend and is one of the strongest, smartest and funniest people that I know. If you know me then you have heard about her and how much time we spend together! :)
