Hi, my name is Elaine McGee. We first heard of Childhood Cancer Foundation when my daughter was on St John's Ward. She had been diagnosed with cancer in Nov 2015. She was only 10 months old. Another child showed me her Beads of Courage and explained what each one meant to her. I thought it was a fabulous way of showing people what she has gone through in such a creative and simple way without being medical. We started it for Molly Rose in the hope to explain to her when she was older what she went through but sadly we won't have that chance. She passed away in September 2016. The Beads of Courage program is just one of many things that Childhood Cancer Foundation do. I'm doing the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon so that other kids can access to the Beads of Courage and the other wonderful programme which Childhood Cancer Foundation funds.
