After much debate and notions of taking on Michael Phelps in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we have taken the plunge and decided to take part in the Frances Thornton Memorial Galway Bay Swim on Saturday 21st of July 2018 in aid of Cancer Care West.
With a range of abilities in the sea we have been united by a common fear of jellyfish. We tried our best but could not find a single positive attribute for our marine nemesis. All going well, we will not encounter our gelatin 'friend' on 21 July and will experience a tough swim for a truly remarkable cause. Cancer currently accounts for 30% of deaths in ireland and as a result has touched many of our loved ones lives. It is extremely difficult to cure as it is not a single disease but hundred of diseases, all different and with no virus or bacteria to target.
The donations received will contribute directly towards the treament for those affected by this disease - in the form of the truly amazing work done by the Cancer Care West team.
