Susie was my big sister and playmate until she had to go away to be looked after when she was nine and I was five. I remember that moment vividly: it had a profound influence on almost everything I did in my life. Things were more difficult in those days if you had an extra, superhuman chromosome but during her small and unassuming life she charmed and cheered anyone who met her. She died last year at the grand old age of 67, still just about able to remember her favourite Julie Andrews songs! Please help to keep people with Down's as happy and safe as they should be. Help them achieve their mighty potential. Susie would have loved you for it.
