In 2015, my wife and I were expecting our second baby. Very sadly, at the mid way point in our pregnancy, we discovered our much wanted little girl had a fatal chromosomal condition called Edward's Syndrome. Our beautiful Sarah Rose passed during labour at 37 weeks gestation. Through what was one of the most difficult times of our lives, Féileacáin was there for us.
Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland – SANDAI) is a not for profit organisation ( CHY – 19635) that aims to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after. The organisation was formed by a group of bereaved parents who supported each other after the death of their own babies and have now come together to formally offer support to other parents and families who find themselves in a similar situation.
On Thursday the 30th of August, I plan to cycle from Galway to Laois in memory of Sarah Rose. Please support this very worthy organisation.

Féileacáin (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Support)
Why the name FéileacáinA Butterfly lights besides us like a sunbeam …Many of the ancient civilizations believed that butterflies were symbols of the human soul, and in Irish mythology the butterflies, or ‘Féileacáin’, are said to be the spirits of the departed who return to visit their favorite place and their loved ones to reassure them that they are alright.
