When I decided to take part in one of Facebook's birthday findraisers, I realised that the Irish Road Victims Association wasn't a part of the list of organisations to chose from. I felt that this was the association that I really wanted to help raise funds for, as they have had a part to play in so many families life's after having lost someone, or someone being seriously injured in a road traffic accident, as well as my own family after the loss of Michael in 2015. I feel like if I was to choose any organisation, I would have to choose this as I feel strongly for the work to do not only to support these families, but also to help raise awareness for the prevention of accident. I feel like it's an organisation that people who aren't affected by the tragedy don't really hear much about, but that the work they do is magnificent and deserves some praise. "
The Irish Road Victims Association is a NGO that supports those bereaved or injured by road collisions and campaigns for justice, rights and recognition for Road Crash Victims.
It works with all Stakeholders whose common aim to prevent road deaths and injuries, to improve road crash investigations and to improve support services for Road Victims and bereaved families.
It campaigns for a fairer justice system, with more transparent investigations, prosecutions and Coroner's inquests. It seeks improved support and recognition for Road Victims together with timely accurate information provided for those affected by road deaths and injuries, without excessive fees being applied."
