My father, Fla Harrington, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease this year so on Saturday 13 October 2018 I will abseil 100ft down the Hogan Stand in Croke Park to raise much-needed funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). Or as my sister has called it, “The Fling for Fla!”
Motor Neurone disease is a progressive neurological condition that attacks the motor neurones in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching the muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. There is no cure. The IMNDA is the only organisation of its kind providing care and support to people with Motor Neurone disease, their families, friends and carers. They provide seminars, nurses, equipment, advice and just a friendly voice on the other end of the phone whenever you need them. They are a small organisation and rely so heavily on fundraising to make all of this possible.

We offer consistent support to approximately 450 families across Ireland who otherwise would have nowhere else to turn. Everybody with MND has different needs at different stag
