Being honest and transparent. Part of the reason I'm doing the marathon training is for myself. It's for the fitness, discipline and the ability to try to sustain a healthy lifestyle while living in New York coupled with a hectic travel/work schedule.
Another greater reason is to fundraise for CanTeen Ireland in memory of my two close friends Conor Walsh and Stephen O'Gorman who sadly passed away to cancer in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
I want to continue the great charity work of my friends back home in Ireland who have fundraised over €100,000 for CanTeen Ireland.
CanTeen Ireland is a nationwide support group in Ireland for young people who have or have had cancer, and for their brothers, sisters, and friends.
I'll be running two marathons in the space of 23 days. Each marathon is 26.2 miles/42.1km
- Brooklyn Marathon (October 20th)
- Las Vegas Marathon (November 11th)
- Also, I'm 50:50 on getting a place into the New York Marathon (November 4th). I'll do that marathon as well if I get a place in the coming weeks.
Any donation no matter how small is greatly appreciated for this great cause.
