In April 2019, I will be travelling to Uganda as part of the CHEEERS: Developing Healthcare Together 2019 Professional Volunteer Team. The team consists of 12 professional healthcare volunteers from Ireland that will be traveling to Kisiizi Hospital (www.kisiizihospital.org.ug/) in southwest Uganda for 2 weeks in April 2019. 

I will be working with the team as a dietitian and will be joined by doctors, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to name a few. Our role within the CHEERS team will be to work with developing communities to improve healthcare services and to promote education and training of healthcare professionals.

Each of the team members is committing to raising as much money as possible for the hospital in Uganda.  All funds raised, will go directly to the hospital and the work the team will be undertaking there.
