Hoping to raise some money as part of the cycle, for the East Galway and Midlands (EGM) cancer support group.

Keen cyclist Ciaran lost his battle to GI cancer at the age of 40 only 9 months after being diagnosed.  He found EGM a great support during his illness, as does his widow Anna who is in remission after aggressive cancer herself. 

More or less everyone is impacted by cancer in one way or another. Groups like this try to help out the family, not just the patient themselves. The HSE refer patients to EGM. They get no state funding or HSE funding, and rely on donations.
