Vision Sports Ireland is the chosen charity for this year’s Galway Cycle, an annual cycle organised by the Students of Maynooth University. Over the course of a weekend up to 250 people cycle from Maynooth to Galway and back again.
Participants of this 400km endurance event will be raising money to enable Vision Sports to hold the Youth Inclusion Games over the next 3 years. The games offers opportunities for 1500 blind and vision impaired young people to engage with sporting activity. The funds will provide for adaptive equipment such as tennis balls, tandems hire, guide tethers and sound balls to be used during the games. Other costs such as venue hire, transportation costs coaching and medals will be covered.
The Youth Inclusion Games is aimed at increasing levels of participation in sports for young people with vision impairment and making a real difference in peoples lives
