Marymount University Hospital & Hospice is a healthcare facility which provides two distinct services. The elderly care facility provides respite care, intermediate palliative care and continuing care for older people. They provide care to patients with progressive illness, both cancer and non-cancer, at a time when pain or other symptom issues need addressing.  

Marymount’s mission statement is as follows: “In providing excellent care, we cherish the uniqueness and dignity of each person, showing compassion and respect.  We strive for quality and integrity in all we do.”

In my personal opinion, I can honestly say that the staff at Marymount accomplish every word of their mission statement. The care they show their patients is second to none. They make each person feel so special and provide great kindness to the patient and their family. At a time of great sadness, the staff at Marymount are to be commended on how compassionate they are. A vocation I hold in the highest regard.      

This year, I’m aiming to complete the Great Limerick Run Half Marathon on May 5th 2019. In doing so, I hope to raise money for Marymount University Hospital & Hospice. The run will certainly be a challenge for me as it will be the longest distance I have ever aimed for. Please help me in supporting a remarkable facility that is Marymount.
