We first encountered St.Francis Hospice back in June 2013 when my grandmother Nellie Richardson recieved fantastic care from the homecare team and at the age of 101yrs was able to live her final days at home surrounded by her family. Then in March 2016 my sister in law and best friend Michelle Herbert was diagnoised with terminal cancer and recieved fantastic care as a patient in St.Francis Hospice Blanchardstown. Michelle lost her brave fight in March 2016 at the young age of 43. Not two weeks later we recieved news that my father Jimmy Donnelly was terminal so we brought him home and once again met the homecare team of St.Francis. Dad passed away on 29th April 2016. Then in August 2017 my beautiful nephew Seimi Brennan was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the young age of 3yrs. The homecare team were involved again. Seimi passed away 3rd September 2017. I am doing the Dublin Marathon in memory of these fantastic people and also hoping to raise some money for St. Francis Hospice. No matter how small a donation it would be very much appreciated.
