Hi all, most of you are aware that I am hoping to run/jog the Dublin Marathon on 27th October. I have been putting the training in and as this is a once off for me, I would really like to raise a few euro for my attempt!! My chosen charity is the Gavin Glynn Foundation. I followed the story of Gavin who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer when he was just 18 months old. He was the same age as Niall and the battle that both he and his family fought really hit me hard as it did to so many people. Sadly Gavin passed away, but his legacy lives on through his parents who have put everything into this charity which helps families with children who have cancer, travel abroad for the treatment they need. It doesnt bear thinking about hearing the news of anyone that young having cancer but then adding in that the only treatment that will help them is abroad and costs thousands. The Gavin Glynn foundation has helped so many families by looking after the financial stress of travelling for treatment to allow them to concentrate on their child and family. They rely on donations from the public to keep helping these families and any donation you can give would be really appreciated. I promise I will give everything on the 27th and will be thinking of Gavin and the other children that are currently battling with something so much harder than a simple 26.2 mile run. Thanks everyone xxx
