I'm running 30K this January to fundraise for Purple House Cancer Support. Your support is very much appreciated.
Purple House is at the heart of the community & is funded almost entirely by voluntary donatio...
Cancer touches everyone, my family are no exception - Purple House were there for Ken's Mum and my Nana, and I've no doubt they have been a support in some capacity to many of my Bray friends.
I am extremely fortunate to have been blessed with amazing health. I don't even have a GP. But hey, I'm now at an age where this can no longer be taken for granted. Cancer is not just a question of luck and genetics - lifestyle matters too. Since summer 2019, I've been making a real effort to eat well, improve fitness and lose weight, and I've been successful so far.
So what's this all about? I really hate running outside. In any weather. I'm one of those weirdos who actually prefers to cover distance on a nice cosy treadmill, sprints and hills, lost in the relative privacy of my headphones. I'm challenging myself to nail this 30K outdoors, rain or shine. I used to sort of like trail running, but it passed. The mud got me down (see profile pic).
Shanganagh Park Run 5K's will comprise some of the total distance, the rest will be routes around Bray. Maps, routes, times and splits will all be posted - nowhere to hide.
Hope you can help with something small, thank you for your support.
Well done Tara! x
