Hi! I'm taking part in the CHEEERS Multidisciplinary Volunteer Trip 2022. As some of you will know, I was originally supposed to travel to Kisiizi in southwest Uganda in March 2020 but that trip had to be cancelled at short notice due to Covid-19. Thankfully, it's finally back on!

I'm looking forward to working with the pharmacy of Kisiizi Hospital to develop & implement projects to help them provide quality care for their patients.

I will be financing my own travel & accommodation costs to take part in the project. The funds I raise here will go directly to the CHEEERS charity to administer in Kisiizi. Check their website for more info about the excellent use they have had made of funds in the past, such as equipment like wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs, therapeutic food for malnourished children, scholarships for healthcare professionals training, materials for large outreach educational workshops and much more.

Currently the main focus of fundraising is a new X-ray machine for the hospital. However, our group are also looking to bring items with us that the hospital does not have the resources to buy themselves, from stethoscopes and thermometers to IV pumps and physio equipment.
