Brenda Gately

On Saturday 8th of August I will be walking from Achill to Westport in aid of Irish Cancer Society and in memory of my dear friend Ger Diamond.

Ger put up a massive battle with the big C and fought til the every end. She was a massive influence on my life and I wouldn't be as happy or successful without her in my life.

She thought me I could do and be anything I wanted. She thought me to love myself and be kind to everyone...but not put up with crap either.

I work for the Society and I am extremely passionate about the work they do. This will be my second fundraiser in 6 months so that will tell you how much I care for the cause. 

I've no doubt it will be extremely tough and parts I will want to give up!! When this happens I will remind myself there are people out there too sick to get up out of bed!! We have a small team doing it that will encourage each other. We will be walking in memory off all the beautiful friends we have lost to cancer.
