The sun was shining I enjoyed every stroke was grateful to you all with every flutter. To all the survivors and all those we have lost we continue to show our love and support and fundraising for vital services is one way we can do that. From the bottom of my heart go raibh mile maith agat...each and every one of you. I will continue swimming throughout August as it is a great love of mine but for a few days I'm hanging up the gear.

09 Aug 2020Day 8 - 1km. Ah lads what a day what a day! Glorious long awaited sunny sunny day. The water was like glass....so still, the sun was beaming down. I took it handy and loved every minute of the cool refreshing water bouncing light around the depths of the lake, just glorious. Thanks a million everyone for all the support and your well earned spondoolies are going to a great cause. I hear it will be sunny all week I will remain optimistic.
08 Aug 2020Day 7 - 2.2km this morning. The sky was grey the water was cool and a bit choppy. I got into a nice flow this morning its nice to swim when the water is a bit rough it pushes and pulls you and slaps you in the face which doesnt sound nice but you feel very alive and connected with the water. Thanks a million everyone for your support. The photo is another oldie but a goldie I wouldnt risk me poor ole vintage phone going walkabout while Im in the water. Just to the left of Saus out of sight is where I start my swims. Have a great Friday everyone.
07 Aug 2020Day 6 - 800metres early start today. The water was so calm and peaceful just went with the rhythm. The arms were a bit sore today but the best cure is to keep powering through so thats what I did. Thanks so much everyone. This photo is an oldie but a goldie of the beautiful Loughrea Lake.
06 Aug 2020Day 5 - 2.2km completed this afternoon, it was really choppy at the start and as time went on it settled a bit. I haven't done this distance in quite a while but I was in my flow and I could have easily gone another 1km or 2 today but the dog needed feeding and I did too! Have you seen how much you've raised everyone?! Unbelievable thanks so much.
05 Aug 2020Day 4 - 1km completed this morning, quite choppy in the lake today. Very refreshing and a great way to start the day. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed that so far you have supported me to raise 460 can you believe it? So grateful to you all.
04 Aug 2020Day 3 - 800 metres on this beautiful bank holiday Monday. Very cool waters this morning the sun was shining on the lake. I enjoy swimming there in all weathers but it's amazing to see the sun shine there, the light reflecting in the water is something magical to see. Loughrea lake is really beautiful to swim in you can see right down to the bottom. Thanks everyone for the support for this wonderful cause.
03 Aug 2020Day 2 - 1.4km of swimming in Loughrea Lake on this beautiful Sunday. Swimming conditions a bit choppier than yesterday. There were a few out this morning enjoying the lovely water and fresh air. It was all about mindful swimming this morning feeling every breath and stroke and that feeling of contentment that swimming in open water gives to me. Thanks everyone for your donations.
02 Aug 2020Day 1 - 800metres completed early this morning. It was a bit windy, the water was lovely. I was on my own in there this morning and thought about those we have loved and lost to cancer in our family with every stroke and flutter, lots of beautiful memories. I felt very grateful to be able to raise money for this cause doing something I love and very grateful for every cent donated so far. Thank you all very much.
