As an incentive to lose weight, I have decided to walk 25km for 25 weeks and in the process raise money for both Galway Hospice and my local GAA club, St Thomas’.
Recently, I have become personally aware of the great work The Galway Hospice do with helping cancer patients and supporting their families. I would also like to help out my GAA club, who I have been involved with all of my life and whose success over recent years has brought me great pride and joy.
It is my goal to walk over 600km by the 25th June 2021 & in the process I hope to lose 2 stone in weight; my loss may be other’s gain😊
I would greatly appreciate any support you can give, no matter how small the donation.

About the Cause
Galway Hospice Foundation
Galway Hospice Foundation is a voluntary organisation. It was established in 1986 when a group of local doctors and nurses came together with a view to developing hospice services for the people of Galway city and county, as no such services existed there at the time.
Two adjoining parishes, Kilchreest and Peterswell, both situated South West of Loughrea on the route to Gort, joined forces in 1968 to form a new club, St. Thomas'.
Both parishes were associated with hurling since the foundation of the GAA and Peterswell in particular was a major force in Senior championship hurling in the early years.
