I'm doing Love Your Lungs Virtual Challenge (35K Steps) to fundraise for Asthma Society of Ireland in Loving Memory of my Sister Angela.

Event Details

I am doing this “Love your Lungs” Virtual challenge as part of Asthma Awareness Week in memory of my sister Angela, I was only 21 when my big sister Angela died from an asthma attack. She was only 26 years old with her whole life ahead of her.

Like most people at that age I never thought asthma could be so serious that it could kill, Angela had never even had a proper attack before. This was her first and last. Growing up we shared so many special times together, now these are some of my greatest memories of her.

As a chronic asthmas sufferer myself, my early childhood saw me Hospitalised numerous time with asthma attacks some landing me in the ICU Unit as often as 10 times a year, but losing my sister to that one fatal asthma attack in 1993 changed my life.

From that day onwards controlling my asthma became my mission, my asthma is now far better managed so that I can continue to live a joyful, happy and healthy life in my adult years in honour of her memory.

Therefore I am fundraising for the Asthma Society’s Asthma Adviceline service that has helped so many young asthmatics, worried parents and concerned older patients during this Pandemic, with excellent call back service that is available free of charge to people with asthma, with a direct line to a panel of asthma nurse specialists’ provide Covid19 updates, information, advice and support to callers from across Ireland.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page on iDonate.ie
