My 170km Ring of Kerry

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page on

This June myself and about 60 Salesforce colleagues will be cycling a virtual Ring of Kerry. That’s 170K each. 170K is the equivalent of Dublin to Limerick. For my San Francisco friends, that's like cycling from Salesforce Tower to Monterray, and keeping on going another bit. Between us we will cycle more than the distance from Dublin to San Francisco (8171 Km).

A few silly sausages - myself included - are going to do their 170K in 1 day. That’s the type of distance you’d see on a Tour de France stage!  Now I cycle a lot, but 170K is a serious amount to chew off, so I am really hoping to get some serious donation support going.

This is to raise funds for Breakthrough Cancer Research. The Ring of Kerry would have been one of their main fundraisers for the year, but of course with Covid, it’s been cancelled. But switching it to a virtual event means we can all contribute.

Recent Updates

08 Jun 2021

Got in 3 classic climbs on Bank Holiday Monday. The distance wasn't huge (68K) but more than enough to take me over 170K - training to ride 170K in a day - but the climbs at Wicklow Gap, Sorrel Hill, and Sally Gap put some serious work through the legs.

08 Jun 2021

Not all riding has to be on skinny tires and lycra - got my dust on for some fab times with friends in Djouce woods. All those kilometres count, even if the wheels were off the ground for some of them!

121 K testing out the route I am looking at for the group. Much better weather than last week. I really felt the distance in the final 10k....

31 May 2021

50K climbing done in glorious weather - certainly better weather than Friday's spin. Need to put some longer spins on the calendar as well!

28 May 2021

100K around Wicklow in the wind and rain. Dropped into Brittas Bay on my way back up the coast but it wasn't really a beachy kinda day!

25 May 2021

Some wet and windy spins over the last weekend! 53K on Sunday which was tough but rewarding! Included my first puncture repair in over a year
