Every 3 minutes in Ireland someone gets a cancer diagnosis.
In 2020, over 45,000 people received a cancer diagnosis. (Irish Cancer Society, 2021).
These statistics from the Irish Cancer Society are stark and indicate how incredibly important cancer support services are.
Behind each statistic, each number, is a person, and a family, all impacted by the cancer diagnosis, and all in need of varying levels of support through the cancer journey.
Like so many families across Ireland, my family has been forever changed by cancer. In February 1998 my mother lost her battle with cancer. In October 1998, my father also lost his battle with cancer. The unwavering support from the home care team from Milford Hospice Limerick stands as a beacon of light, love and hope in an otherwise dark year.
Because I know from first hand experience how essential the Irish Hospice Foundation is to cancer patients and their families, I'm taking part in two fundraisers for the Irish Hospice Foundation: 'Pledge to Plant' and 'Walk 100km in June'.
Pledge to Plant:
Choose from a variety of perennial or self-seeding annual plants - grown with love and hope in my greenhouse - including Sweet Peas, Nasturtiums, Morning Glory, Asiatic Lillies, Stock, Night Scented Stock, Virginian Stock, Hollyhock, Malva, Lily of the Valley, Borage, Sunflowers (giant and dwarf), Candytuft, Cosmos, Gladiolus, Forget me Not, Anemones, Nerine, Ranunculus .....and a few more! Use the arrows above to see a selection of the available plants!
Prices will vary depending on the size of the plant and the amount you want. WhatsApp me on 0876953228 for more details.
All funds raised from the Pledge to Plant fundraiser will go directly to the Nurses for Nightcare service across the Republic of Ireland.
Further information on the Pledge to Plant National Fundraiser can be found at the link below.

Walk 100km in June:
During the month of June I will complete a 100km walk. So if you see me out pounding the footpaths around Ballymoney, or trekking through the beautiful Courtown woods, or walking along one of the many beautiful north Wexford beaches, give me a smile and a wave of encouragement....and if you can follow that up with a donation to this worthwhile cause, all the better!
All funds raised from the 100km walk will go directly to support end-of-life and bereavement care across the Republic of Ireland.
Further information on the 100km walk can be found at the link elow.

So how can you support me in these fundraisers..... from now until the end of June you can purchase plants from my greenhouse in Ballymoney, or if you do not want plants, you can just donate to the fundraiser. If either of these options do not suit you, please feel free to share this link to your friends and colleagues, using the share option below.
All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.
I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.
Many thanks for your support.
