Thank you for visiting my fundraising page on iDonate.ie. I'm taking part in the Croagh Patrick Climb in memory of my beautiful Mum, Rita Conneely, who died from ovarian cancer on February 24th of this year, and received incredible care from the Galway Hospice, both as an inpatient, and in her final weeks and days at home. With the help of the incredible Hospice Home Care Team, we were able to honour Mum's wish to die very peacefully in familiar surroundings. We have also recieved amazing support from chaplains and social workers after Mum's death, and this is ongoing.
Before Mum's death, Galway Hospice provided care to many of our family members and friends. The services they offer to Galway and the West of Ireland are so critical, and I can't imagine what we would have done without them. You never know when you or your family might need Hospice help - this time last year, we certainly had no idea that Mum was sick.
Funds raised go directly to help Galway Hospice care for patients and families living with life-limiting illness.
