Hi folks,
The 2nd January 2022 would have been Pat's 60th birthday. We had hoped to be able to organise an event to mark same but obviously due to Covid numbers and restrictions this is not now possible.
You may recall that back on the 2nd January 2017 in conjunction with Banteer & Lyre GAA we held a very successful 5k fun walk at the Banteer Sportsfield to mark Pat's 55th birthday. On this occasion the sum of over €18,700 was raised in Pat's memory for the Mercy Hospital ICU.
We have chosen the Mercy ICU again to thank them for the incredible work they do and as a thank you for the dedication of the Doctors, Nurses and Support Staff for the care and attention they give to everyone, which of course we saw first hand for the three weeks Pat was there.
As you all know Pat loved life, loved his job as a Physciatric Nurse with the HSE, loved farming, the GAA, golf, horses and his involvement with SIPTU but above all he loved his family and friends dearly.
Pat was a member of Banteer/Lyre GAA for over 30 years and was involved in the whole GAA scene from Club to Division to County Board level.
We would ask that over the holiday season you might take a moment to remember Pat by going for a walk, having a cuppa or raising a glass in his memory and if possible make a donation to the Mercy Hospital through this page.
Wishing you all a very happy, peaceful and safe Christmas & New Year.
Eileen & the extended Murphy family & friends.
