On July 2nd, 2022 I will be cycling the Ring of Kerry in support of Down Syndrome Kerry.
The day will also mark the 1-year anniversary of the cycling accident. This event motivates me to complete my journey to recovery. A journey that many of you (family, friends, doctors and therapists) have played a part in. Your support has meant so much! The family and friends who helped care for, visited and gave me the support to get well each day. The many doctors who treated my injuries and guided me through this ongoing journey. The therapists who enabled the physical recovery necessary to get back on the bike. Thank you all for your support. Specific thanks to Dr Jack Rosenfeld my primary care doctor! Doctors Garett Helber, Kevin Freedman and Mark Strauss all of Rothman Orthopedics who helped put me back together and get me back on the bike! Doctors Keith Silverstein and Jonathan Scharf who gave me my smile back. And Megan Conover L.Ac. and Melinda Schwartz L.Ac. at Healing Journey Acupuncture and Wellness.
To complete my journey, I'm taking part in Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, a 170 KM (107-mile) circular route in the South West of Ireland.
This iconic cycling event, now in its 40th year, takes place along one of the world’s most renowned touring routes, The Ring of Kerry. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for national and local charities. Since the inaugural cycle back in 1982 this event has raised more than €17.4 million for charity.
Down Syndrome Kerry’s goal is to help people with Down Syndrome make their futures as bright and independent as possible by providing them with education, support and friendship every step of the way.
