We are taking part in Dip in the Nip - In for a Penny.
We have chosen to fundraise for Cancer Fund for Children (Ireland), Children's Health Foundation Crumlin formerly CMRF Crumlin, Children's Health Foundation Temple Street .
We are sparing our blushes, donning our Birthday suit's & daring to tempt the freezing Irish waters for this great cause & to show our support for a real trooper Jacob. "Jakey" is the 12 year old nephew of a friend of ours who is going through a real tough time.
Jakey went from climbing Bray Head on New Years Day 2022 with his extended family to being diagnosed with cancer of the femur in 3 weeks !! I recently saw a video of him following chemotherapy & I felt the least we (I knew Angela would be with me) could do was do our bit to raise some funds to help these charities who do so much for families faced with tough roads ahead - you never know when you might need the services.
We don't know Jakey personally but we know his aunts. He is the baby of 7 children and is only 12 years of age, facing a tough road but has loads of support from his family - far & wide.
What I can say from the photo's I have seen of this little boy is that he has a smile that would light up a room, his big brown eyes sparkle & you just know he has a heart loaded with spirit & cheer. Even in these tough times, he is still smiling & I have no doubt he will continue to during his treatment.
He is a born performer & loves to watch one of our favourite shows, Strictly Come Dancing with his parents Doug & Suzanne - now, c'mon, who doesn't love a bit of Strictly on crappy winter nights - it's the obligatory Christmas Countdown in my house !
All that's left to say is that all funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.
I hope you can help us by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.
You can also share our page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.
All that's left to say is many thanks for your support & we will be discreet in the photo's we post as proof that we froze our bits off ! (rest assured the decision didn't cost either of us a thought)
Bye for now,
Suze & Ang x
