Hi!
I'm going to run the Dublin marathon in aid of Caring for Pádraig. If you don't know the story, my classmate Pádraig was cycling to work on his J1 in June 2013 and was hit off his bike by a van. He was injured very badly.
Sadly, the insurance policy he had refused to pay to cover his medical bills, something that has been mentioned in the news: http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/insurer-refuses-to-pay-medical-bill-for-student-in-us-coma-30123807.html
Back in May, Pádraig's dad Reinhard ran the Hamburg Marathon with Cian, Pádraig's friend, and then wrote a blog post about it. (here: http://hospi-tales.com/2014/05/04/finisher/ ) When I read the blog post it just seemed so OBVIOUS to me that I had to run the Dublin Marathon with them. Not only could I be part of their journey, but I could raise money for Pádraig's care.
If you have a few bob to spare (anything at all, really!) I'd really appreciate the sponsorship for a cause that is very close to my heart. I know that Pádraig would climb mountains and cross seas for his friends, so it is great to be able to do something.
Thank you! :)
