Fundraising For Women's Aid
Latest Update !!

Ladies & Gentlemen, Birds & Bees - I am doing Walk 80K in July for a very special charity, Women's Aid and your support is very much appreciated!!!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page on I'm taking part in Walk 80K in July for Women's Aid. I don't have a personal story but I've chosen to fundraise for Women's Aid as I know many women who have really benefited from Women's Aid and I want to support this hugely important resource to ensure they have access to a refuge when needed. Domestic violence increased expontentially during lockdown... we all felt trapped during this time but just imagine what that must have felt like for a woman exposed to domestic violence and her children... we are out of the lockdowns now but nothing has changed for these vulnerable women and their children - they need our help. Your donation could be life changing, no matter how small.

All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause. I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. Many Thanks for your support. Read more about Walk 80K in July for Women's Aid

31st July 2022 - The final furlong...I had 1.34km to do today BUT as this walking has become a little bit addictive and it was the last day of the challenge today, myself and my hubby did a 14.88km walk in the beautiful sunshine and mountains of West Cork. So as of now, starting on 1st July and ending today I have clocked up 93.54km in total... thats 13.54km over target. I have loved every moment of this challenge and I am sooo very grateful for the support I have had from everyone, both moral and financial. I will continue to walk now... as part of my own personal challenge. Would love to walk the Camino, trek Machu Picchu and hike the PCT... I end my challenge with a quote from one of my fav books... Wild... Thank you all Love & Light Lisa xxx “It was all unknown to me then, as I sat on that white bench on the day I finished my hike. Everything except the fact that I didn't have to know. That is was enough to trust that what I'd done was true. To understand its meaning without yet being able to say precisely what it was, like all those lines from The Dream of a Common Language that had run through my nights and days. To believe that I didn't need to reach with my bare hands anymore. To know that seeing the fish beneath the surface of the water was enough. That it was everything. It was my life - like all lives, mysterious and irrevocable and sacred. So very close, so very present, so very belonging to me. How wild it was, to let it be.” ― Cheryl Strayed, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

Second last update... my walk yesterday... 5.58km done... 1.34km to do today... thats 78.66km done so far... we are out later today and I will complete my challenge... During the last month I have thought a lot about the reasons why Women's Aid is so important. We live in a time where women are exposed to a variety personal threats not just to their physical being and their mental stability but even their day to day lives, be that at work, out in public or at home. We need to unite to protect and support each other - be that against domestic violence, physical or mental threats to ourselves and ensure those who wish to de-materialise women and reduce them to just a feeling or a stereotype are stopped. My semi final quote is one of reflection on the healing of pain, of remembrance and time... Happy Sunday ... xxx “It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.” Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy
