Two weeks ago, Paul and his wife Julie were out walking near their home in Fountainstown when Paul fell, knocking himself unconscious. Following a call to the emergency services, he was rescued by air ambulance and brought to Cork University Hospital where he was treated and later allowed home to make a full recovery.
The air ambulance is operated by Irish Community Rapid Response and is at risk of being grounded due to lack of funds.
Paul was due to run the London marathon this weekend but instead Paul and Julie will walk 42k within a 2k radius from their home and are asking you to support them by walking or running 5k within your own 2k radius from home, making a donation to the Irish Community Rapid Response and nominating five friends to do the same. Just imagine how many kilometres that would be collectively!!!
The ICRR is a voluntary organisation so all funds raised will go towards life saving equipment, vehicle maintenance and fuel.
