Three years ago, a good friend of mine Tom Moran sustained a fall whilst on holiday in Spain which caused a significant head injury.. Tom underwent a craniotomy and spent 6 weeks in an induced coma in Malaga before being air-lifted back to St.James's Hospital in Dublin where he spent a further 312 days under the direct care of neurologist Dr.Colin Doherty.. Thankfully, with the care of the team at St.James's hospital and Toms undeafeatable attitude to life Tom has defied the odds stacked against him and made an incredible recovery and is often referred to as "The Miracle Man"... So to mark the 3rd anniversary of Toms near fatal brain injury I will abseil from the 9 storey extension at the Red Cow Morans Hotel alongside Tom and his family and friends to raise some much needed funds to build a Brain disease resource and research centre at St.James's Hospital.. Funding is essential to build the Brain disease resource and research centre at St.James's and no doubt will be a major benefit and welcomed addition to the hospital.. We never know what lies ahead for any of us and indeed whether or not we may need a service like this in our lives .. I need to raise a minimum or €300 and that is where you guys come in.. Please donate whatever you can, no matter how big or small it will make such a huge difference to not only the hospital but to all who may require its services.. Thank You all in advance , Best Wishes ,John Kenny.
