The English Channel is 21 miles and has become an iconic swim for open water swimmers to tackle, the Everest of swimming no less! Our team of 6 hope to swim there and back 42 miles (67.5 km) as the crow flies all to raise funds for the Children’s Unit in Cork University Hospital. Our six swimmers are all from Myrterville Marie Watson, Harry Casey, John Kiely, Brenda Sisk, Lawrence Courtney and Ann Smyth. We are all amateur swimmers and all funds raised will go directly to the Children’s Unit.
