Sexual violence is unfortunately a major problem is today's societies. Not only in Ireland, but globally, both North and South. If you have not been a victim yourself, it is likely that you know someone who has. (They might have told you about it but they might not have) Following recent events in Northern Ireland, we - Fiona, Melissa and Roisin - have decided to try and raise money for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre by running the VHI Women's Mini Marathon. The reaction to the verdict of the rape trial in Belfast aswell as the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements have encouraged us to play our part in this relatively new uprising against sexual violence. We wish to fundraise for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre as they do amazing work in helping all victims of sexual violence in Ireland. As sexual violence is not a small issue, the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre needs as much money and resources as they can get and we hope that with our help, they will receive even more funds.
We would really appreciate if you could please contribute to our fundraiser. Even if it's just a couple of euros, it makes a difference. Your funds will be automatically be transferred directly to the RCC. This page will close on the 3rd of July, a month after the Mini Marathon. We hope to do you proud on the 3rd of June at the Mini Marathon, we definitely won't be finishing first though!
Thank you all in advance,
Fiona, Melissa and Roisin - the Huns
