Hi! Peter here - I am fundraising for Rare Diseases Ireland - we all know someone living with a rare condition and RDI do great work building awareness, advocating for and supporting people living with rare conditions and their families.

I am going to drag some of my mates around the 32 counties of Ireland in a 100% electric vehicle in 24 hours- #PeterTrys32Counties. Our intention is to catch up with old friends, have some craic, raise some money and prove that electric cars are a brilliant option in Ireland. We are starting our adventure from Connolly Motors in Ballina, Co. Mayo at 2pm on Saturday Sept 18 and finishing around 12 noon the following day in Connolly Motors, Ballybrit, Co. This is a rare challenge for rare diseases!

Did you know that there are an estimated 300,000 people living in Ireland with a rare condition? There are more than 6,000 rare diseases and 70% are exclusively paediatric onset. At least 4% of children in Ireland are diagnosed with a rare disease, a life-long condition, by age 17 and approximately 2/3 of paediatric deaths in Ireland are associated with rare diseases.
