To improve and develop our supports and services to women and children living with and exiting domestic abuse. You money goes towards the provision of emergency accommodation, clothing, food and supports to help women and children restart their lives.
history
Drogheda Women’s & Children’s Refuge Centre is a voluntary organisation established in 1997. Through our supports and services DWCR has helped many thousands of women and children who have experienced domestic violence and/or homelessness. Using a trauma informed approach we provide: Refuge accommodation; Transitional/step down Housing; Support Sessions; 24 Hour Helpline; Outreach Support; Counselling; Court accompaniment; Child/Youth specific services; and collaboration with local services to deliver
Whilst there is no specific demographic of our families, they are women and their children escaping domestic violence; those seeking support and information to end the violence in their homes, and women who have become homeless for a variety of complex reasons.
