Would you walk 300,000 steps during the month of February and help us raise much needed funds?
We need your help!
Will you take the challenge of walking 300,000 steps during the month of February
Starting on February 1st and ending on February 28th set yourself the challenge to walk everyday. By doing so, you will get fit, feel healthier and have a daily goal to achieve. But, more importantly you will be helping Cork Stroke Support to help stroke survivors.
A dedicated management committee supported by volunteers provide a 5-day service of enabling activities that will sustain rehabilitation goals and promote health and wellbeing of service users. The Cork Stroke Support Centre is an operational hub of stroke support services providing a valuable referral pathway for hospitals and community services and a much-needed walk-in advisory service for stroke survivors and families. There are no geographical boundaries for the service, but it primarily serves cork city and surrounding areas. Activities include information and physiotherapy led-exercise sessions, tai-chi, boccia, yoga and art sessions. Music sessions and sing along sessions are also popular and we are very proud of our CSS choir ‘Stroke Notes’ . There is much to be gained from group sessions with peer support, sharing of similar experiences and the development of long-lasting friendships.
By taking up this challenge you will be helping us to expand our services and activities.
