Deaf Enterprises has been in existence for 30 years. The context it now operates in has changed and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community require new and different employment opportunities. Deaf Enterprises is entering a new phase of its life-cycle, and funds are badly needed to support the weekly wage-roll of 22 people, while developing more direct employment opportunities within Deaf Enterprises and indirect employment opportunities with future commercial partners. The deaf and hard-of-hearing community have a unique culture which we need to foster and develop.
As Chairperson of Deaf Enterpises, I am excited to be raising awareness of Deaf Enterpises great work (furniture upholstery & french polishing), while also raising much needed funds for Ireland’s only dedicated employer of members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D&HH) Community.
Having never swam 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles or ran a marathon (26.2 miles), I have been training for the past 12 months to complete these 3 disciplines in one day (12 Hour target) at Ironman Barcelona on September 30th. Take note of my training log here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/12878720
So while I prepare for this endurance test, please lend your support by making a much appreciated donation to Deaf Enterprises - thank you
PS: While all donations of €10 or more will be entered into a draw for a signed Cork City FC jersey.
