A couple of lads organising a Fantasy Six Nations League For Good beginning on Saturday 1st of February 2020. We're raising money for Dublin Simon Community and Éist Cancer Support Centre Carlow.
Join our Irish Times Fantasy Six Nations 2020 private league at: https://fantasyrugby.irishtimes.com. Search code EHK6FXYU in the "Join a League" section to find us.
League entry is 5 euro.
If you'd like to give more, please don't restrain yourself on our behalves :) You'll look like a great person and you'll cover the fees of any snakey boys who try to slip in without donating!
We were planning on spending money on extravagant prizes, but then it struck us - wouldn't people rather that the money goes to a great cause instead? So we're offering prizes so crappy that even our winners will feel like they're doing good:
The "Pass the Egg" (Egg)Cup - A trophy that knows that size isn't all that matters. A fitting reward for the overall league champion. Simply put, it's rugby's greatest eggcup.
The "Which French team will show up on the day?" Beret - It takes a true genius to be mercurial one week and completely rubbish the next. We tip our berets to the team with the highest single-gameweek score at the end of the tournament. Can you master the Gallic art of peaking for just a single gameweek over the course of an entire tournament?
Sergio's wooden spoon - Italy's talismanic captain had a few lying around, so we nicked one. Awarded to the team with the lowest points total at the end of the competition. Teams must have fifteen point-scoring players in each gameweek - this illustrious award recognises the achievements of those most buffoonish players, not the laziest! We anticipate a hotly-contested race to the bottom.
"It's not a Gilbert" weekly awards will also be given out over the course of the tournament. These awards are based on your weekly point scores, meaning that the drubbing you took in Week 1 need not spell the premature end of your budding fantasy career. Winners will be awarded with one of our favourite budget balls. (Think illustrious brands such as Azzurri, Patrick and Crivit Sport!) We'll be posting each week in the WhatsApp group to update you about the week's challenge.
Are you ready for some of the greatest horseplay of all time?
I'm only here because I need a new egg cup
