While doing the first few days of Freezbrury 2019, there was an instant connection drawn between the challenge and the battle with depression. It was very difficult to do the challenge on our own and the idea of 28 minutes in the water seemed impossible, so we asked for some support, and got it in droves. The challenge instantly became easier. That's why we decided to do the challenge in aid of charities who help people suffering from depression and anxiety. 

Sometimes the challenge can seem impossible, the odds can be stacked against you and you might not be able to see anyway out, but with the right support, and taking it day by day, you can achieve way more than you ever imagined. 

Freezbrury has been transformed into a massive display of community support, as well as a fundraiser that has generated tens of thousands for different mental health charities.

@freezbrury wants to continue helping charities that provide services to people in need, and to also help people realise that they don't need to suffer in silence. There is help available and it's good to talk. Even if it's just to a friend or to a professional, depression doesn't need to be a solo battle. We want to break the stigma around talking about mental health issues, and normalise getting help when you need it. :)

This year we have decided to fundraise for Pieta House,  The Samaritans, and Shine a Light Suicide and Mental Health Awareness Group . All funds raised here will go directly to these great causes.
