Join us on the virtual journey cycling 1000km around Ireland to support Women’s Aid and Childline in their work helping women and children across Ireland experiencing abuse and other adversities.

As many of this year’s sporting charity events have been postponed or cancelled, we decided to embark on our own fundraiser to support two charities helping women and children across Ireland, as the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated circumstances for many people in vulnerable situations. Both of our chosen charities have experienced a significant increase in contacts to their services. We initially aimed t...

Recent Updates

Our first ever Mitchell McDermott Charity Cycle fundraiser has ended and we wish to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone that made a donation, big or small. Mitchell McDermott are proud to make a €5,000 donation on behalf of all the team to top off the incredible support received from staff, their friends and family, and our wider network of industry colleagues. Together we raised an incredible €25,405 for Women’s Aid and ISPCC Childline. Both of our chosen charities have experienced a significant increase in contacts to their services this year, and the funds raised will help them in their work supporting women and children across Ireland experiencing abuse and other adversities. We were delighted to receive thank you messages from Sarah Benson, CEO of Women’s Aid, and John Church, ISPCC Childline Chief Executive. Thank you to both charities for the incredible work you do, which we are proud to support.

We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support that has been given to the Mitchell McDermott Charity Cycle 2020 in aid of Women’s Aid and ISPCC Childline. We’ve surpassed our target and have raised €18,905 to date. THANK YOU for your support. These funds will help Women's Aid and ISPCC Childline in their work supporting women and children across Ireland experiencing abuse and other adversities. Our fundraising page is still active, and can receive donations until Saturday 31st October. If you haven’t yet made a donation but would like to it will be much appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and support. Two weeks ago we took on a virtual 1000km cycle challenge, and succeeded! Our cycling teams covered 1,241km in fact, in a total of 44 hours 41 minutes 7 seconds. The fastest team was 3 PMs and a Baby – Kieran O'Leary, Paul Conlon, Robert McNamara and Conor Dempsey - who collectively sped through 167.96km in 04:53:07. The yellow jersey for overall leader goes to Adam Roche, who covered his 42km in 00:59:02. Green Jersey for next fastest time goes to Robert McNamara at 01:01:14, and the King of the Mountains was Andrew Baldwin, who completed a challenging 46.21km road cycle with an elevation gain of 1,516m. Well done to all of the cyclists. We’ve shared some fun pictures from the virtual event on our social media accounts.

From everyone at Mitchell McDermott, a massive THANK YOU for your support and helping us reach our fundraising target of €15,000! Last Friday evening our team of cyclists passed the 1000km finish line, completing our virtual journey around Ireland in aid of Women's Aid and ISPCC Childline. Your support means so much for these two charities, and will help them in their work supporting women and children across Ireland experiencing abuse and other adversities. Thank you! Our fundraising page will remain active and able to receive donations until Saturday 31st October, so if you haven’t yet made a donation but would like to, you still can. It will be greatly appreciated by these two amazing causes. Thanks again for your kindness and support. Well done to our teams of cyclists who all took on the challenge with a great spirit of camaraderie and shared purpose, as well as some friendly rivalry! We’ll have news on who was the fastest team later in the week, so watch this space!
