“5 DAYS 1200K CHALLENGE”, A FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR JIGSAW - 17/02/2021 - 21/02/2021

The goal of this challenge is to collectively run/walk/cycle/swim 1200 km and to raise €1200 for Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health.

Now, more than ever, mental health issues are at the centre of everyone’s concerns, and especially among young people. Jigsaw’s mission is to offer a listening ear, and to give expert advice and support to young people aged 12 – 25 years-old. They also give families, teachers, and those who support young people’s mental health ways to cope and skills to be there for young people.

We know training is not easy at the moment, so this is also a great challenge for you to (maybe) get back to it, to keep your training up and get out there! After all, we know how much exercising and sports can help with our mental health as well!

So, now, you’re probably wondering how does this work and how to participate?

As mentioned above, this challenge will last for 5 days, from 17th until 21st February 2021.

To participate, here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Join the Gaelforce Strava Club. (https://www.strava.com/clubs/killary-gaelforce-147760) We will post events for each day of the challenge on this club. You can complete one, several or all of these events, it is up to you
  2. On this page here you can donate to Jigsaw. You can also view how our €1200 and 1200K target is going
  3. Share the fundraising page (https://www.idonate.ie/jointeamgaelforceforjigsaw) and the challenge with your friends and family, and on social media.Don’t forget to tag us @Gaelforceevents and use the hashtags #JoinTeamGaelforce5days1200kJigsaw #supportteamgaelforceforjigsaw. We will share your posts and stories on Instagram and Facebook!

At the end of this challenge, we will all have, as a team, virtually completed the 1200km there are between all of Jigsaw’s services.

On last thing – please remember to follow the government’s guidelines and exercise within your 5k!

We very much look forward to completing this challenge with you all!
