Latest Update !!

Following the success of Rahimathon 2013, I am once again donning the hiking gear, this time to trek the Grand Canal from Shannon Harbour, Co. Offaly (where the Grand Canal meets the River Shannon) to Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, 84 miles or a more impressive 132km. The event is taking place over four days from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th June, and on this occasion I will be joined by Paul Kiely & Brian O'Carroll.

As well as enjoying ourselves and getting plenty of fresh air and exercise, we are raising much-needed funds for Assistive Technology (AT) equipment for the Rehabilitation Training Unit in the Irish Wheelchair Association, Clontarf. The €1,800 that was donated to Rahimathon 2013, when I walked the Grand's northern sibling the Royal Canal helped purchase computers for the RTU training room. This time we hope to purchase specialised cooking/kitchen equipment for the Training Cookery Room in IWA as well as further specialised hardware required by some IWA members to access computers.
