This October I will be running my first Dublin City Marathon in aid of Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, two very worthy charities who do excellent work for people who are unfortunately impacted by these diseases.

My motivation for choosing these two charities is twofold.

My father in law David McCloskey was impacted by OC back in 2015 and my former colleague and friend Jason Miller unfortunately lost his battle with OC in late 2021.

Motor Neurone Disease has also darkened my communities door with some great friends and families impacted in the past and currently. I also have great admiration for Charlie Bird who is such a strong advocate for suffers of MND.

My goal is to raise €10,000 (or as much as possible) and the money raised will be split evenly between both charities.

I hope you can support me with this challenge and hopefully I can start and finish it on behalf of all the friends and family impacted by OC and MND.
