Earlier this year, ex-chairman, and lifelong member of St. Patricks GFC, Padraic O'Connor was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rare, progressive neurological condition that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching the muscles, which leads to weakness and atrophy.
MND can affect how somebody walks, talks, eats, drinks, and breathes. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it’s unlikely that they will all develop at the same time. Essentially, everyone is affected differently. Currently, there are approximately 400 people in Ireland living with the disease.
The services provided by the IMNDA are immediate and free of charge. The association has already been of huge assistance to Padraic and his family, but with 85% of their income coming from fundraising and donations, the IMNDA needs your help.
100% of the funds raised here will go directly to the IMNDA. We hope that you can help us by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely.
You can also share our page using the Share options. This is a great way to show your support.
Thank you!
From all in Naomh Fionnbarra & St Annes GFG Togher. For a great cause.
Sorry we couldn’t join you on the walk.
