Towering waves, high winds, crashing seas, big wildlife, nobody to call, capsizes, awkward silences, fractured sleep, strange visions, a massive calorie deficit, quarter million ton oil tankers, delirium and on into the void. Three landlubbers rowing in shifts, two hours on, two hours off, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week for months on end.
A fitting charity for the journey being undertaken. The KBRT is making the hardest way home easier for the families and loved ones of the Irish deceased abroad. As an Irishman living in New York the KBRT speaks to me on many levels. There's not many Irish people it doesn't speak to. I have huge respect for the work the Bell family have undertaken in the past seven years.
