Fórsa Trade Union charity raffle for the Irish Hospice.
All funds raised in the raffle will go to the Irish Hospice foundation. This fundraiser is in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation and is a continuation of the Fórsa 4 peaks challenge which took place in August 2021.
The Irish Hospice Foundation is the only national organisation dedicated to dying, death and bereavement in Ireland. They fund, deliver, and enable the delivery of a range of work programmes and services, including:
•    Nurses for night care - enabling more people to fulfil their wish to die at home
•    Hospice Home Care for Children - Ireland’s first national paediatric palliative care service
•    Hospice friendly hospitals - aiming to improve the end-of-life care in hospitals countrywide
•    Bereavement - host the Complicated Grief Programme, the Irish Childhood Bereavement Network and a bereavement support group development programme
The Foundation also provides education and training to 3,000 people annually in bereavement, communications and end-of-life care, they fund pioneering research on end-of-life and palliative care issues and they provide information services to professionals, students and the public. They also advocate for better end-of-life, bereavement and palliative care services through raising awareness of end-of-life care issues and public engagement on all matters relating to dying, death and bereavement.
The Irish Hospice Foundation are members of Charities Institute Ireland and operate the triple lock standards for best practice in transparency and accountability.
At 5,896 meters, Mount Kilimanjaro is not only Africa’s highest point, but also the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Reaching the summit involves trekking for 7 days and passing through five distinct climate zones ranging from rainforests to alpine deserts and eventually glacial Arctic.
