This year sees the RNLI celebrating 200 years of saving lives at see. The nearest lifeboat station to Lifford is the Lough Swilly lifeboat which has been saving lives at see since 1987. Over the years Lough Swilly RNLI has saved over 79 people and rescued nearly 900 people.

All the crew are volunteers and the cost of running the RNLI is funded totally from fundraising and donations, there is no government support North or South. On average it costs just over €2,500 to kit out each crew member. So please give generously, and a big thank you to 'Lifford Together' from all the crew at Lough Swilly RNLI, for the funds this will raise.
