NRFA Cycle for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie – Wild Atlantic Way Challenge 2025

This September, over 140 firefighters from across Ireland and the USA will take on an epic challenge: cycling the iconic Wild Atlantic Way – all in support of Aoibheann’s Pink Tie , Ireland’s national children’s cancer charity.

Who We Are:

In 2025, we’re taking to the road once again—cycling to support children and families bravely facing cancer. For the second consecutive year, The Donegal Firefighters Association (DFA) will proudly enter a team, riding side by side with members of the National Retained Firefighters Association (NRFA) and members of the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY).

This effort is more than a physical challenge; it’s a symbol of solidarity, compassion, and our shared commitment to serving the community in every way we can. As retained firefighters, we stand united not only in emergency response but also in support of those in need beyond the call of duty.

Together, through teamwork and determination, we aim to raise awareness and vital funds to help ease the burden for families during some of their most difficult times.

Saturday 06/09/2025 meet and greet in Newcastle West county Limerick.

Day one of cycle Sunday 07/09/2025

Newcastle West to Foynes- Tarbart - Ballybunion. lunch in Ballybunion- Listowel- Abbeyfeale-Castle island-Tralee.

Day Two Monday 08/09/2025.

Tralee-Connors pass-Dingle-Inch-Castlemaine- Killarney.

Day Three Tuesday 09/09/2025.

Killarney- Molls gap-Kenmare (lunch)-Bantry.

Day Four Wednesday 10/09/2025.

Bantry-Skull-Skibbereen-Clonakilty-Bandon-Kinsale.

Day Five 11/09/2025.

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie provides vital support to families of children undergoing cancer treatment – from practical help to emotional care. Every kilometre we cycle is for the brave kids and families who face their own daily battles with strength and courage.
