Ok here's the scoop.
Monday morning - 27th April - VLM Airlines will launch their new route from Waterford to London (Luton).
Normally when travelling from Kilkenny to London it takes me 6 hours. BUT "I" think if I go via Waterford - the trip can be done in 4 hours 30 minutes from Kilkenny City Centre to London St. Pancreas (Kings Cross). I will be using normal public transport..........and no "help" will be given......this is just to show..how easy it is to use Waterford and help the Chernobyl Children Outreach Group in the process.
The plan - Leave Kilkenny (my home in the city centre), @ 06.00am..........arriving according to Google maps @ 06.50am in Waterford Airport, to make the check-in which closes at 07.00am. VLM Flight to depart @ 07.30am - Landing in Luton Airport @ 09.10am. A quick shuttle to the train.........next stop St. Pancras station London......the question is - what time will I get there?
Now, I'm asking for €5.00 an entry to guess what time I actually put my foot on the platform in St. Pancras. Nearest the minute will win - lunch for 2 on the most magnificent ocean liner in the world - Cunards Queen Mary 2 in Dublin on the 20th May 2015.
If 2 people pick the same time, and I arrive at this time, a draw will take place on KCLR's Breakfast show Tuesday morning under the watchful eye of the Breakfast crew.
As the trip goes on - undates will be on Facebook and with the KCLR Breakfast team.
I'd like to thank VLM Airlines, Waterford Airport, Cunard and the fantastic team at KCLR for this assistance with this mad little run! Keep an eye on Facebook or listen to the morning programme on KCLR Monday morning for updates
