Children's Health Foundation Crumlin formerly CMRF Crumlin

Children's Health Foundation Crumlin formerly CMRF Crumlin, Children’s Health Foundation raises funds with the help and generosity of supporters across Ireland and beyond, and provides urgent funding where it is needed most across CHI – from funding essential equipment and patient and parental supports to making new services and ground-breaking paediatric research possible.

We are committed to saving young lives, improving the quality of life for sick children, and providing extraordinary care so as to give all little patients the best possible outcomes.

At any one time there could be up to 25,000 children in Ireland battling chronic disease like neuroblastoma, leukaemia and heart disease. In hospital and at home these conditions are painful, frightening and life threatening. That is why we are striving to do #whateverittakes to fight the causes and effects of childhood illness, until all children can live healthy lives and reach their full potential.

We urgently need people to join us and our community of parents, families, doctors, nurses and scientists who are working every day to save little lives. By investing in treatments, technology and learning we are creating brighter days for the children in CHI at Crumlin, both today and for years to come.

where your money goes

When a child you love is sick, your top priority is finding the best care available. This is our priority too. Children's Health Foundation Crumlin, formerly CMRF Crumlin, together with donors and partners fund initiatives, research, equipment and projects with three main aims:

  • Saving young lives by funding critical research and equipment
  • Supporting small victories everyday for children living with illness by improving their quality of life
  • Creating brighter days for sick children and their families by funding comforts through our Giggle Fund and enhancing their environment

Right across the hospitals – in wards, theatres, departments, Intensive Care Units and research centres – you can see the positive and on-going impact of donations, which allow CHI’s medical teams to continue to provide world-class medical treatment and care to sick children and their families.

history

For many years, Temple Street Foundation and CMRF Crumlin have worked tirelessly with the help of individuals, communities and companies to support the urgent, life-saving work that takes place in CHI at Temple Street and Crumlin (formerly Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital).

Right across the hospitals – in wards, theatres, departments, Intensive Care Units and research centres – you can see the positive and on-going impact of donations, which allow CHI’s medical teams to continue to provide world-class medical treatment and care to sick children and their families.

In January 2019, the legal structure of the three existing children’s hospitals – Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and National Children’s Hospital Tallaght  – were merged under one new health group, Children’s Health Ireland (CHI).

To prepare for the future of paediatric healthcare in Ireland and to ensure that we can continue to support patients and their families in every step of their journey, Temple Street Foundation and CMRF Crumlin also came together as Children’s Health Foundation at the beginning of 2019 to work together for sick children.
